2nd Edition Galician Offshore International HUB 2017

In its second edition, the Galician Offshore International HUB repeated the success of the first edition with more than 300 attendees. This edition focused on the sector’s new line of action, floating offshore wind power. The advances made by the Wikinger and Hywind projects were presented. The former highlighted the participation of Navantia and Windar in the construction of 29 jackets, representing a major global commitment to a commercial wind farm such as the one in the Baltic Sea. With the Hywind project, Navantia and Windar have played a key role in providing energy to 20,000 homes, demonstrating the importance of floating offshore wind power. Once again, it was emphasised that the future of the naval sector lies in the offshore wind industry and offshore construction.
